The School of Dentistry and TAFE Gilles Plains – New Collaboration Agreement

A Collaboration Agreement has been negotiated between the University of Adelaide and Minister for Employment, Training and Further Education (TAFE SA). 

The agreement forms part of the MOU signed on 26 September 2006 to foster cooperation between the institutions for mutual benefit and the mutual benefit of our students and staff.

The agreement provides a model for granting block credit and defining an articulation pathway into the higher education sector for graduates from the TAFE SA Advanced Diploma of Oral Health (Dental Hygiene). The intent is to develop a transparent pathway to expand the career opportunities and options for a significant sector of the oral health workforce and in so assisting in addressing the needs of the community.

As a result, The School of Dentistry together with TAFE Gilles Plains have defined the partnership model in this agreement and have detailed the outcomes of the arrangement which include:

• Establishing an articulation pathway;
• Providing a summary of the level of advanced standing; and 
• Maximising and sharing resources, facilities and expertise across educational sectors
