About School of Humanities

Our vision

Adelaide University’s School of Humanities probes the past, analyses the present, and helps to reimagine the future. We provide foundational training for our students to become informed and responsible global citizens able to address real-world problems.

Adelaide University’s School of Humanities reads between the lines.

We explore a diversity of artistic, cultural, linguistic, literary and material heritages, contemporary media, visual and textual arts, and the most complex problems of the human condition.

We know that to envision and work toward a more equitable future, we need to understand the past.

We strengthen students’ experiences through industry connections, placements, and projects, including hands-on experience in facilities like the Australian Lab for Immersive Technologies or the Museum of Classical Archaeology.

We prepare our students for career success, enabling them to harness their passions, acquire knowledge, and develop skills through our degrees.
