Community views sought on river use Experts from the University of Adelaide will play a key role in a new symposium aimed at generating community discussion about water resources and river use. The "All About Water: All About the River" Community Symposium will be held at the Strathalbyn Town Hall on Friday 13 April. The symposium is designed to promote discussion between water experts, community and business leaders, policy makers and members of the local public. Invited speakers include Dr Mike Geddes (Earth & Environmental Sciences) and Associate Professor Keith Walker (Earth & Environmental Sciences), while Professor Diane Bell (Anthropology) is Co-convener. Overseas graduations in April The University of Adelaide will hold four graduation ceremonies in Asia this month. Around 190 students will graduate at the ceremonies in Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia, from 17-22 April, which includes two ceremonies in Singapore. A full report on the overseas graduations will appear in a future issue of the Adelaidean.
Distinguished Alumni Award nominations The Development & Alumni Office is now accepting nominations for the 2007 Distinguished Alumni Awards. The awards recognise outstanding service to the University of Adelaide, the community and/or significant contributions in their chosen fields.
