Canon 'Extreme Imaging" competition 2012 - $5,000 prize
Canon and CiSRA, their Australian R&D Centre are pleased to announce the 2012 Extreme Imaging Competition.
The Extreme Imaging competition focuses on imaging science projects where students make equipment that can produce images beyond the boundaries of creative photography and video.
The prize will be awarded for the best student research project in the area of “extreme imaging”. This is NOT a photography competition. It is for a supervised research project in the area of imaging science, including photography and videography. Example topics would be: modifying a cheap camera to do something unusual, imaging at unusual wavelengths, ultra-fast photography, imaging in difficult environments, or “green” photography.
The prize will comprise $5000 for the winning student or students and $5000 for their supervisor. A Canon 5D Mark III DSLR will be awarded to the runner-up. This year we have also introduced a new prize for undergraduate students. They will also be eligible for a $1000 prize for the winning student or students, and $1000 for their supervisor. These prizes will be supplemented by $3000 worth of other Canon equipment.
