Dr Paul Dalby to Represent Australia in the Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence
On Tuesday the 16th of June 2020, The Hon Karen Andrews MP announced that Australia would be a founding member of the Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence (GPAI). Dr Paul Dalby, Business Development Manager at the Australian Institute for Machine Learning, is one of five Australians selected to represent the nation in the multilateral forum.
The GPAI has been formed to guide the development of AI such that privacy and human rights are preserved whilst also capitalising on the economic potential of the technology. Two centres will be created, one focusing on data governance and the future of work, and the other focusing on responsible AI, innovation and commercialisation.
Artificial Intelligence is changing the world right now, and it is important that Australia has a voice at the table to ensure that AI is used to create a world that is consistent with Australian values and aspirations.Dr Paul Dalby
