Have you ever experienced a video call where your hair disappears into greenery in the background, or your hands become invisible when you wave them around to emphasise a point. Through her PhD project at AIML, Yutong Dai wants to make these issues a thing of the past.

Shin Fang is a PhD candidate at the Australian Institute for Machine Learning (AIML), University of Adelaide. She sees herself leading a research team in one of the world’s big technology companies and has built strong momentum to ensure success.
