*The Vet Emergency Fund is a UoA Fund set up to support the care of injured stray and wildlife animals brought to the Roseworthy Veterinary Hospital. This not only allows treatment of animals which might otherwise be euthanised, but provides additional teaching opportunities for students.
About Dr Nicole Kalnins
Dr Nicole Kalnins grew up in the Adelaide Hills and moved to Queensland to study Veterinary Science. In 2010 she graduated from the University of Queensland with honours and spent the next 7 years working in mixed practice, general small animal practice and emergency where she developed her passion for critical care. In 2021 she completed a residency position in Emergency and Critical Care at the University of Queensland. Having now returned to Adelaide, she is excited to be overseeing the SASH Adelaide Emergency and Critical Care team as one of only two Boarded Criticalists in the city.
