Dr Zoe graduated as a veterinarian from the University of Adelaide in 2013. She initially worked in small and mixed animal practice before completing a small animal rotating internship at the University of Queensland in 2017.

Zoe obtained Membership of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in Small Animal Medicine in July 2019. She commenced a Residency in Veterinary Ophthalmology through the ECVO and ANZCVS at Veterinary Ophthalmic Referrals (VOR) in June 2019 and completed the residency in 2022.

This session will take a case-based approach to conditions seen in general practice, covering companion and production species, and what you can do to manage them.

Gerardo joined Animal Emergency Service in 2010. He achieved Membership with the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in the field of Emergency and Critical Care in 2012 and was head examiner for future Membership candidates for 3 years.

This session will take a deeper look into intravenous fluid therapy for emergency cases including shock therapy.

Rhonda to discuss the signs of grief, as well as practical solutions to better manage it.

Presenter: Dr Dillon Devathasan

Dr Dillon is a Neurologist at the Small Animal Specialist Hospital (SASH). After graduating from the University of Adelaide, he undertook internships in Queensland and Melbourne before completing a three-year residency in Neurology and Neurosurgery at Purdue University, Indiana.

This session will look at localisation of neurological diseases, common and interesting neurological cases, and cases that require specialist referral.

Dr Andrew Whale was born and raised in a small country town in southern NSW has been working as a sheep veterinarian at Livestock Logic in Hamilton, south-western Victoria for 10 years.

Dr Andrew Whale will present an informative session with practical tips of how to get on farm, develop a relationship with farmers, and provide services to rural communities as a veterinarian.

He is a highly respected speaker and facilitator in veterinary practice management, personal and organisational leadership, and non-technical competency development, and has presented across multiple continents.

Garry will share his 20+ years of clinical practice expertise on how to charge appropriately for your time and stop fearing that money conversation with clients.

Dr Emma Vermeeren graduated in 2013 and has worked in general mixed practice, while pursuing her passion – dog training and veterinary behavioural medicine.

Emma now works in her own veterinary behaviour and dog training business, Animal Behaviour Coaching. Emma attained her MANZCVS (Veterinary Behaviour) in 2021.

Emma will be discussing how to handle the difficult patient from a veterinary behaviour perspective.

Associate Professor Ryan O’Handley leads the Parasitology section of the Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory and is a founding member of the Parasitic Diseases Research Group (ParaDRG) at the University of Adelaide.
