A little known yet surprisingly common heart condition is now sending more Australians to hospital than any other heart issue.

Celine Gallagher demonstrating the results of her study assessing hospitalisations throughout Australia due to atrial fibrillation. From 1993-1013 AF hospilisations have increase such that it is the most common cardiovascular cause surpassing that of heart failure and myocardial infarction.
