This advanced degree is suited to nurses currently practising cardiac nursing who want to pursue leadership or research roles.

What will you do?

Our Master of Nursing Science (Cardiac Nursing) offers a comprehensive grounding in research methods and critical analysis. You will: 

  • build management and clinical enquiry skills
  • gain hands-on experience in simulations and skills laboratories
  • partner with an expert in your field of study who’ll support and encourage your academic development
  • undertake 9-units of research either by dissertation or a systematic review project.

If you want to continue to further PhD study, you’ll complete 12 units of research. An exit path for the Graduate Diploma in Nursing Science (Cardiac Nursing) will be available after the first year.

 

Note: International students on a student visa are required to study on campus in Adelaide.

For applicants that have a completed Graduate Diploma in Nursing Science or equivalent, they may commence in Stage 2 of the Masters program and are not required to upload the completed Supervisor Certification form.
Selection Criteria
Graduate entry

Higher Education Study A completed Bachelor of Nursing degree or equivalent; AND
at least two years post registration nursing experience in the field of the specialisation to be undertaken; AND
be registered or eligible for registration as a Registered Nurse in Australia; AND
be employed at a minimum of 0.64FTE in a clinical setting.

Degree Structure

The program is structured in two stages:

Stage 1

Students must complete the courses as outlined under the study plan to exit with the Graduate Diploma in Nursing Science (Cardiac Nursing).

Stage 2

With an additional one year of fulltime study, students can complete this program by Research or Coursework.
