Professional Certificate in Nuclear Law

Fast-track your expertise in nuclear law

Nuclear science promises a more sustainable future, ground-breaking medical treatments, and insights into the very fabric of the universe. Yet, it also comes with significant risks. That’s why we need passionate professionals with strong expertise in nuclear law—to regulate its use and ensure the safety of our planet and its people.
Introducing: Australia’s first university program in nuclear law.

What will you do?
Our Professional Certificate in Nuclear Law comprises a one-week intensive course conducted face-to-face in Adelaide and an additional 12-week research project (which may be completed remotely). You will:

  • review global and national nuclear energy regulations
  • analyse nuclear safety, safeguards, and security laws
  • study AUKUS arrangements, nuclear trade, nuclear energy and human health, environmental impacts, nuclear accidents and liability, and nuclear waste management
  • connect with representatives from Australian and international nuclear regulators
  • complete a self-directed research project in nuclear law.

Where could it take you?
You might serve as a consultant for leading nuclear corporations or shape international treaties. As a regulatory counsel, you could navigate intricate legal mazes. Perhaps you’ll ensure environmental compliance or offer your expertise to prominent NGOs. You could also use your study credits as a stepping stone to higher degrees, like our prestigious Master of Laws.
