Research Interests
My research interest lies in the intersection between mechanical engineering and medical science; there is great potential to use elasticity modelling to investigate the biological properties of living tissues and identify early cancers. I have worked on the mechanics of different types of materials at various scales, particularly small-scale biological components such as microtubules and I have more than ten years of research experience in the modelling of the mechanical behaviour of materials using elasticity theories. My current project is focused on development of advanced elasticity models to simulate the mechanical characteristics of breast tissue with high mammographic density for the very early detection of breast cancer.
