Biography/ Background
Dr. Huan zhao, also named as Huanhuan zhao, is a Research Fellow at the Biomety Hub on the Waite Campus. Dr. Zhao's research focuses on applying statistical, genetic, and genomic tools to improve crop production. She complelet her PhD at la Tobe university in collaboration with Agriculture Victoria Research, where she investigated the use of genomic assisted breeding tools to rapidly transform the diverse safflower genebank collection into elite breeding lines. She has a particular interest in incorporating quantitative genetics and population genetics in plant breeding to improve complex traits.
