Australia has seen a rise in the number of individuals within the residential population that are 60 years and older. While it is well established that normal aging is accompanied by a general slowing of both cognitive and physical ability, how this relates to the ability to conduct and regulate sensorimotor limb movement is yet to be fully determined. My research interests broadly lie within the area of sensorimotor control (hand eye coordination) and the changes across the lifespan. Specifically, I am interested in describing and documenting the functional differences in performance on sensorimotor integration tasks within an aging cohort. This is achieved through a combined utilisation of saccadic, chronometric and kilometric analysis with attention to the potential underlying mechanisms.
