Nearly one million Australians suffer from endometriosis, where tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside the womb, and can suffer debilitating pain, pelvic inflammation, headaches, fatigue, and even infertility. Watch August's Research Tuesday featuring Professor Louise Hull, and Dr Jodie Avery  from the Adelaide Endometriosis Research Group based at University of Adelaide’s Robinson Research Institute and shared their recent findings on diagnosis and management for the condition.

Prestigious awards recognise medical technological innovation

Cutting-edge medical research carried out at the University of Adelaide has been awarded prizes for excellence in the prestigious 2023 Australian Museum Eureka Prizes. Two projects won awards for innovative medical imaging techniques to help treat children with cystic fibrosis and for the improved diagnosis of endometriosis using artificial intelligence.

Success for Adelaide-led medical research

The University of Adelaide has been awarded more than $8.8 million in research grants from the Federal Government’s Medical Research Future Fund’s (MRFF) to support targeted research on new ways to address risk factors for chronic and complex diseases.
