MathTrackX XSeries Program
Develop the skills and confidence to apply mathematical concepts in the real world.
MathTrackX is an XSeries Program that has been designed to provide learners with a solid foundation in fundamental mathematics and how it can be applied in the real world. The 6 courses in this program – along with the standalone Maths Foundations course – will assist in developing the skills, knowledge and confidence for STEM related career development or preparation for further studies.
Guided by experts from the School of Computer and Mathematical Sciences and the Maths Learning Centre at the University of Adelaide, the self-paced MathTrackX program will equip learners with a comprehensive understanding of the key underpinnings of mathematics, required for further study. Learners will develop skills in communicating mathematical solutions and arguments, and build confidence in solving mathematical problems. Topics covered include methods and applications of differentiation, integration, probability and statistics.
Upon successful completion, this program will be accepted as a prerequisite in place of SACE Stage 2 Mathematical Methods at the University of Adelaide. MathTrackX is not a replacement for SACE Stage 2 (Year 12) Maths Methods but could be a useful study tool towards completion of this certificate.
Recognition of this program may also be applicable for further studies in your state or country. Please contact your accrediting body for any processes that apply if you are hoping to use this program as a bridging course into further education at a University level.
Maths Foundations
Maths Foundations is a standalone online course which is offered on the edX platform, and is considered excellent preparation for the MathTrackX bridging course. It is useful as preparation for any university course or degree which assumes maths up to Year 10.
XSeries certification
How to earn the XSeries program certificate:

Frequently asked questions
-
What maths do I need to know before doing the MathTrackX Program?
You need to be comfortable with number and algebra skills from primary and high school up to Australian Year 10. The standalone AdelaideX course Maths Foundations detailed above is a good Foundational Course for you to undertake before doing the MathTrackX Program, should you not be comfortable number and algebra skills from primary and high school up to Australian Year 10. Note, this course is not part of the MathTrackX Program.
-
How do I use MathTrackX as a University of Adelaide prerequisite?
If you want to use MathTrackX as a prerequisite when applying to Adelaide, you need to include it in your SATAC application. There is a section of the SATAC form that asks about bridging courses and you can indicate you are doing MathTrackX there. If you have completed the program you can submit your certificate otherwise SATAC will check with the University to see if you have completed the course when they calculate offers.
Please ensure you allow enough time between applying for your chosen degree and the SATAC offer rounds to complete the MathTrackX programs.
-
How do I enrol?
If you are planning to complete the full program in order to achieve the Mathematical Methods prerequisite it is best to enrol into the full program in order to access the bundle discount. Click the 'Enrol now' button above.
Alternatively, you can access links to each course from this page which each have enrolment functionality.
-
How does the assessment work?
Each of the six courses in the MathTrackX program have a self-evaluation questionnaire which will assist you in identifying the content that is recommended to complete before undertaking the exam. You are able to undertake the exam at any time. The pass grade is set at 80% and learners will have a limit of two attempts for each exam.
-
How will I receive my certificate?
As you complete each course in the program you will receive a certificate that will be available to view and print in the edX platform. Upon completion of all courses in the program, you will be issued a program certificate that will be available in the edX platform.
