Nominations open for Graduates to Council

Nominations have been called for the election of two graduates to the University Council for a term of two years from 6 September 2004 to 5 September 2006.

To participate in the election process, you must be a University of Adelaide graduate and your name contained on the roll of graduates as at the date of roll closure 15 June 2004.

Nominations can be made at any time from 29 June 2004 and must reach the State Electoral Office at GPO Box 646, Adelaide 5001 (fax +61 8 8401 4333) no later than 12 Noon 27 July 2004. Nominations must be made on the prescribed form, signed by the candidate and two persons eligible to vote in the election.

Nomination forms may be downloaded from the University's website at http://www.adelaide.edu.au/governance/council/elections/ or obtained from the office of the Council Secretariat (telephone +61 8 8303 4194).

Candidates must provide a candidate statement of not more than 150 words in support of their nomination and may provide a head and shoulders photograph taken within the last 24 months. Submitted candidate statements must not contain information that may be misleading, inaccurate or defamatory to any other candidate. To enable distribution with the ballot papers, candidate statements and photographs must reach the State Electoral Office no later than the close of nominations.

Should an election be necessary, election material will be forwarded to all eligible voters by post at their last known address. The ballot will open on 9 August 2004 and will close at 5pm on 6 September 2004.
