Harvard expert talks business strategy in Adelaide

The University of Adelaide's MBA Program will play host this month to one of the world's leading experts on business strategy, Professor Cynthia Montgomery from Harvard Business School.

In her only public appearance in Australia, Professor Montgomery will offer insights to Adelaide's business community at a business lunch at the InterContinental Hotel on Wednesday 14 November.

Professor Montgomery is Timken Professor at the Harvard Business School and immediate past head of the school's Strategy Unit. She has taught at Harvard for 20 years where her programs have been attended by managers of mid-sized companies ($10 million to $2 billion in revenue) from around the globe. A top-selling author, Professor Montgomery's new book is The Strategist: Be the Leader Your Business Needs.

"This event will provide Adelaide's business community with a unique opportunity to learn from one of the world's best experts on business strategy. We are incredibly grateful to have someone of her standing and international expertise attend our event and share her knowledge," says the Director of the Adelaide MBA, Mr Damian Scanlon.

"Bringing years of experience gleaned in the Harvard classroom, Professor Montgomery will discuss what strategy is, why it matters, and what it takes to lead the effort."

Mr Scanlon says the University of Adelaide's links with the Harvard Business School have enabled Professor Montgomery to come to Adelaide.
