Closing the Gap: Data Sovereignty, Ownership and Sharing.

The National Agreement on Closing the Gap has been built around four Priority Reforms that have been directly informed by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. These reforms are central to the National Agreement and will change the way governments work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities.

This forum focuses on Priority Reform 4: Shared Access to Data and Information at a Regional Level.

Outcome of this reform is for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to have access to, and the capability to use, locally-relevant data and information to set and monitor the implementation of efforts to close the gap, their priorities and drive their own development.

Target of this reform is to increase the number of regional data projects to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to make decisions about Closing the Gap and their development.

Our speakers will present around this reform and how better support the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people with focus on women, children and young people.
