Remembering Holden

History of Holden

The closure of General Motors Holden's last factory at Elizabeth saw the end of automotive manufacturing and a particular workplace culture in Australia. The 'Social Histories of Holden' project researchers interviewed 100 former Holden workers who shared their experiences of working at Holden dating back to the 1940s. In this special event for the SA History Festival, the researchers and interviewees themselves will talk about factory life, workers’ lives and how we can remember Holden into the future.

Featuring Professors Jennifer Clark, Alistair Thomson, Graeme Davison and Paul Sendziuk and former Holden employees.
