Pizza, mini-documentary and film night

On the 16th of October, join Rising Tide for an evening of pizza and two inspiring film in Union Cinema.

The first, a 20-minute mini-documentary, tells the story of the Rising Tide People's Blockade "Protestival" held in Newcastle last November. Full of live music, fun family-friendly activities, panel discussions and connection within a passionate community of climate aware individuals from all across Australia, the protestival's concluding event was Australia's largest ever mass act of civil disobedience for climate. Be inspired by the story, hear about plans for this year's upcoming protestival event back bigger and better than ever (with 10,000 attendees and performances from the likes of Peter Garrett and John Butler!), and then stick around for the wholesome comedy film 'Pride', which tells a story of the power in communities coming together in solidarity across struggles.
