Design and Build
The Design & Build Challenge is an annual competition held during Orientation Week, run by the Adelaide University Mechanical Engineering Student Society (AMESS) and the Electrical and Electronic Engineering Student Association (EEESAU). This fun and competitive event gives first-year Mechanical and Electrical Engineering students the opportunity to design and build a mechanical or electrical device while also creating an engaging poster. It is completely free to join, and prizes will be awarded. This activity is a great way to gain hands-on engineering experience, meet new people, and prepare for your first week at university.

🚀EXTERRES Space Lab Tour🚀
Interested in space exploration, engineering, and/or cool science labs? Drop by the Extraterrestrial Environmental Simulation (EXTERRES) laboratory on the North Terrace campus!
✨Our passionate student project teams from the Adelaide Rover Team, Adept Rocketry, and Adelaide University Space Society will be there to chat about their exciting work and give you a guided tour of the lab!

Low Sensory Space
The University of Adelaide is committed to providing safe, accessible and inclusive spaces for students on campus. We know orientation can sometimes be an overwhelming experience. For this reason, room Barr Smith South 346 (Level 3 Hub Central) will be available to briefly rest, recuperate, and attend to disability or health related matters in a quiet, low sensory environment as needed.
