SA Scientist of the Year 2023: Professor Helen Marshall AM

 

 

Prof Helen Marshall AM has been awarded South Australian Scientist of the Year at the 2023 SA Science Excellence and Innovation Awards.

Professor Marshall is a Research Leader in Vaccines & Infectious Disease at the Robinson Research Institute, The University of Adelaide, and Clinical Research Director at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital. She is a nationally and internationally recognised leader in vaccine research, particularly for her work in preventing deaths and disability from life threatening infections such as meningococcal disease. Through her work and advocacy, South Australia has become the first place in the world to establish a vaccine program protecting both infants and adolescents from meningococcal B disease.
