Get started with Counselling
It's no surprise that being productive during a crisis can be incredibly challenging. The areas of our brain responsible for functions such as planning, working memory, and analytical thinking become compromised. So, while we’re playing out situations of worst-case scenarios and figuring out how to react based on what we’ve done in the past, our analytical abilities take a back seat resulting in feelings that are unfocused, unmotivated, and an inability to work.
When it comes to studying, you will no doubt have a good idea of when you’re less than your best. When this happens it’s time to check in with yourself and plan to share the load with others.
While friends and family are great listening ears, they are not always equipped to provide us with the necessary tools to develop coping skills and strategies to manage stress and anxiety. This is when you’ll want to speak with a Counsellor to help shift your thoughts and behaviours in a more positive and constructive direction.
