Barr Smith Bike Shed Closure
The Barr Smith bike shed (north of the library) is closing to make way for a new student space. Alternative bike parking can be found nearby in the Horace Lamb bike shed and between Ingarni Wardli and Engineering and Maths Sciences. All bikes must be removed by Friday 11 August 2023.
The project will create a new entrance to the Barr Smith Library, complete with terraced seating nooks for outdoor study and reading. The removal and reinstatement of new bike storage will open up the Library's frontage, allowing for new design features such as event power, drinking fountains, and lighting.
