Develop your site
This section of the web standards guide contains information intended to help
you create and maintain your pages on the University web site. To make your pages
as useful as possible to users, it is important to present the content of your
pages in a way that is consistent and easily readable.
The Process
The process for making changes to web pages is:
- download the latest version of the page from the webdev server to your local
computer (using Dreamweaver or FTP)
- make the required changes using Dreamweaver MX 2004
(notes for non preferred web development tools are also available Dreamweaver MX
, Dreamweaver 4
or Netscape Composer
)
- upload the changed file to the webdev server (using Dreamweaver
or FTP)
- preview the changed page on the development server and check all aspects of
the page, particularly test all links and ensure the page layouts are correct
- once the page has been checked, upload
the page to the live site.
