IT Systems and Tools

To assist you in locating the relevant systems and tools available for HDR students, a consolidated list is provided below in alphabetical order.

An overview is provided for each, along with the login link and contact information should you require further support.

  • Annual Review of Progress

    The Annual Review of Progress (ARoP) is an appraisal of your progress by both you and your supervisory panel due every year on 31 October.

  • CaRST Online

    Career and Research Skills Training (CaRST) Online enables HDR students to find, book, and record their professional development activities as part of the University's Career and Research Skills Training (CaRST) program.

  • Core Component of the Structured Program

    The Core Component of the Structured Program (CCSP) is the first major progress milestone you will complete following candidature commencement; it is due at six months or half-time equivalent from your start date in candidature.

  • EndNote

    EndNote is software for storing and managing bibliographic references.

    Visit the EndNote Library Guide for information on how to install and use the EndNote software.

  • HDR Online Enrolment

    Follow the instructions provided post admission to enrol in your offered Higher Degree by Research (HDR) program.

  • iThenticate

    iThenticate is a text matching software tool, that will compare documents you submit to an extensive database of web pages and scholarly content, and produce a similarity score and report. The software allows you to review your work, to check for originality and to ensure you have cited non-original work appropriately. iThenticate also allows you to share documents you have submitted with supervisors and colleagues.

    iThenticate is available to all Higher Degree Researchers and Supervisors once a license has been activated.

  • Major Review of Progress

    The major review of progress is undertaken at 12 months, or half-time equivalent, from a HDR student's start date in candidature.  It is a pivotal point during which candidates' skills, aptitude and ability to complete their HDR program within the expected timeframe is assessed.

  • MyAdelaide

    In MyAdelaide you’ll find:

    • your personal details

    • your enrolment details

    • your candidature details (under the Research candidature menu item)

    • your academic transcript

    • your graduations details

    • any fees, charges and payments on your University account

    • any University invoices and

    • any coursework results.

    Through MyAdelaide you can change your address, telephone details and emergency contacts, change your password, make credit card payments online towards your University account, print evidence of your enrolment and manage your graduation.

  • MyIT Portal

    Get IT support, chat with the Service Desk, or create and update tickets.

  • MyLibrary

    The University Library offers a wide range of high quality resources and services to support research students throughout the research lifecycle.

  • MyUni

    MyUni is the University of Adelaide’s online education service for students and staff. From MyUni HDR students are able to access the online postgraduate research induction, a range of Career and Research Skills Training activities, ethics training and the Turnitin Originality Check tool. In addition, HDR students who are enrolled in coursework courses will be able to access discussion groups and course materials for these courses within MyUni.

  • Open Researcher and Contributer ID (ORCiD)

    Your ORCiD (Open Researcher and Contributor ID) is the persistent digital identifier which distinguishes you from every other researcher. Higher Degree by Research (HDR) students are encouraged to sign up and register their ORCiD with the University.

  • Research Data Planner

    HDR students can use Research Data Planner to create high quality research data management plans.

  • Researcher Profiles

    Your Researcher Profile provides a public summary of your research interests, achievements, publications, and your overall research career.  All University of Adelaide researchers have a Researcher Profile (including academic staff, titleholders and HDR students).

  • Unique Student Identifier

    A Unique Student Identifier (USI) is a reference number that creates an online record of your qualifications attained in Australia. All students undertaking a higher education qualification, need a USI  in order to receive a qualification upon successful completion from 2023.
