AIML Lightning Talk: Engineering Intelligent Digital Systems

The Centre for Research on Engineering Software Technologies (CREST) team has been developing a trustworthy modularised Digital Twin Platform (DTP) that can be applied to autonomous and safety-critical cyber-physical systems (CPSs), such as smart factories, smart healthcare systems, and autonomous vehicles. The CREST DTP provides simulatable models of target systems (a.k.a digital twin models) based on runtime data streamed from real target systems.

The digital twin models facilitate the simulation of “what-if” situations based on the runtime data and provide the opportunity to manage unexpected events, such as failures or data distribution drift before they occur. We are working on addressing info-secure and data-driven analysis issues to apply the digital twin-based AIOps effectively and efficiently to the autonomous and safety-critical CPSs. This talk briefly introduced the CREST R&D capabilities and technologies such as Software Security Intelligence (SSI), automation of AI-based DevOps (AIOps), self-adaptive runtime monitoring, and system optimization for predictive maintenance that have been leveraged in the CREST DTP.
