Kate Forrest
Bachelor of Applied Science (Agriculture)(Hons), Class of 1993–96
Kate has always followed her passion for rural development and has held various exciting roles throughout Australia and overseas since graduating from Roseworthy College. Her first job was with Port Augusta Primary Industries followed by a property management role based out of Alice Springs. Taking flight to explore Perth, she then began work with the Indigenous Land Corporation in a diverse and challenging capacity building role. Her overseas work in Sri Lanka and Cambodia has seen her develop regional and rural communities in both training and volunteer capacities. Since coming home to Australia, Kate has spent time working on her family farm in Stansbury, Yorke Peninsula. Her current role is Executive Officer with Rangeland NRM Alliance.
What was Kate’s fondest memory of her time studying at Roseworthy?
Kate was known as “Forestry” or “Raja” to fellow students at Roseworthy and her favourite memory is ‘having so much time waiting for documents to open that you could head to the tavern for a game of pool’.
