ANZOS Mid Career Prize Winner

Dr Chris Perrella was awarded the ANZCOS Mid-Career Prize at the ANZCOP/AIP Conference in 2023. 

Chris was recognised for his research in precision measurement for both fundamental and applied research. He continues to liaise with industry and defence, allowing his work to have a real-world impact through the development of measurement devices for use outside the laboratory.

His current research is centered around speckle, a grainy pattern which appears when light scatters off a surface. Speckle can make highly precise measurements about laser properties (down to attometre resolution), the environment, and the scattering surface.
