Defence Researchers come together ahead of upcoming merger.
Defence Researchers from University of Adelaide and the University of South Australia recently came together to celebrate the successes of 2024.
The event at the National Wine Centre attracted over 100 key defence researchers and professional staff from both Universities, who assembled as a group for the first time.
Defence and Space has been identified as one of the five research pillars for the soon to be enabled Adelaide University. The event highlighted the amazing extent of research expertise and capability that the new Adelaide University will boost and will further consolidate Adelaide University as Australia’s foremost defence focused university.
University of Adelaide spokesperson for the event, Mr Gregory Davis said, “There is great good will and excitement from both sides to ahead of the merger. Looking around at the room, it’s great to see that there are already a lot of researchers that have previously collaborated, and there is much exciting conversation on new possibilities.”
The formal joining of the two universities will further increase the contribution to defence, security and space research.
