Diversifying Citizen Science and Public Engagment
Engagement of the public with environment issues is important to the Environment Institute’s mission. One way the Institute involves the public is by championing citizen science projects across the University and in the community. We recognise the impact of citizen science initiatives in encouraging public engagement in research, and highlighting their invaluable role in collecting beneficial data and samples that can be used to address important research questions. By actively involving the public in research we foster a sense of shared responsibility for the preservation of our natural world and inspire collective action towards a more sustainable future.
