GFAR at the AARES conference

A number of academics and PhD students from Centre for Global Food and Resources (GFAR)  are looking forward to presenting their papers at the Australasian Agricultural and Resource Economics Society (AARES) 2019 annual conference starting from 13th to 15th February in Melbourne Convention Exhibition Centre. This blog outlines the various talks and presentations that GFAR team members will give at the conference.

Strengthening our partnership with IPB University

IPB delegates with Jack Hetherington and Indonesian students of GFAR

Delegates from Institut Pertanian Bogor Indonesia (IPB University) recently visited the University of Adelaide. The delegation consisted of Dr. Arif Satria, SP, M.Si (Rector), Prof. Dr. Ir. Iskandar Zulkarnaen Siregar, M.For.Sc. (Director of International Program) Dr.Ir. Arief Daryanto, M.Ec (Dean of Vocational College), Dr. Ir. R. Nunung Nuryartono, M.Si (Dean of Faculty of Economics and Management). During the visit, the delegates met with the University of Adelaide board to discuss future international collaboration between the two universities. They also had a chance to visit the Waite Campus to witness some of the state of the art facilities in agricultural sciences and smart farming technologies.

IndoDairy annual meeting

The IndoDairy project is a research collaboration between Australian and Indonesian research agencies aiming to contribute to increasing milk supply (quantity and quality) by 25% by 2020 for at least 3,000 dairy producers in the geographic locations of West Java and North Sumatra: an ambitious target, but one the project, led by the Centre for Global Food and Resources (CGFAR), is using to help guide its activities. And with less than 18 months to left, the project is heading towards the ‘end game’.
