About Professor Göran Roos
Prof. Göran Roos is one of the founders of modern intellectual capital science and a recognised world expert in the fields of innovation management, industrial and innovation policy, and strategy. He is an advisor to organisations and governments around the globe and holds visiting professorships in Australia, Finland, UK and Norway.

Göran is a CSIRO Affiliate and a fellow of the Australian Academy of Technological Science and Engineering (ATSE) and of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences (IVA).


He first came to South Australia in 2011, as a Thinker in Residence. He was a highly regarded member of the SA Economic Development Board and the Prime Minister’s Manufacturing Leaders Group. His residency led to significant innovation and success in advanced manufacturing in some key South Australian businesses, transformed by his inputs.


In 2022, he was invited as the first South Australian Green Economy Catalyst. He is currently advising the Government in South Australia on its Green Energy Transition and visits the state regularly through Green Industries SA.


Earlier this year, The University of Adelaide through the Institute for Sustainability, Energy and Resources (ISER), conferred the title of Adjunct Professor on Prof. Göran Roos.


While Prof. Roos is visiting South Australia in mid-October, he will be meeting with a range of academia, government and business representatives. He will also be giving a couple of presentations hosted by The University of Adelaide; one at the North Terrace campus, and this lecture hosted at the Waite Campus campus.
