University researchers placed top in their fields
ISER is proud to support six University of Adelaide researchers who have been named as the country’s top experts in their fields according to league tables just published.
The University of Adelaide as an institution leads in three research fields: Thermal Sciences; Chemical and Materials Sciences (General) and Chemical Kinetics and Catalysis. It has also been named as one of the top five universities in the country that is leading in two key research challenge areas: climate change and indigenous research.
The results, published by The Australian in its annual feature of research excellence, is based on the number of citations given by peers to research published in top journals. The top Australian researchers and research institutions in 250 fields of research over eight disciplines have been named.
University of Adelaide researchers who are ranked as leading in seven fields are:
Associate Professor Murat Karakus, School of Civil, Environmental and Mining Engineering, in the field of Mining and Mineral Resources.
Professor Nigel Cook, School of Civil, Environmental and Mining Engineering, in the field of Geochemistry and Mineralogy.
Professor Peng Shi, School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, in the field of Automation and Control Theory.
Professor Shi Zhang Qiao, School of Chemical Engineering and Advanced Materials, in the field of Chemical and Material Sciences (General).
Professor Shaobin Wang, School of Chemical Engineering and Advanced Materials, in two fields: Chemical Kinetics and Catalysis, and Dispersion Chemistry.
Professor Jian Zuo, School of Architecture and Built Environment, in the field of Sustainable Development.
Current researchers at the University of Adelaide are also named in The Australian’s feature as being some of the country’s best when it comes to collaborating with industry.
