Congratulations to Adjunct Professor Kathy Ehrig
Adjunct Professor Kathy Ehrig (Institute for Mineral and Energy Resources) has been awarded the 2022 Haddon Forrester King Medal and Lecture (Career award) by the Australian Academy of Science. Kathy is recognised for her insights and research leadership into the complex geological events involved in the formation of the supergiant copper-uranium-gold-silver ore deposit at BHP Billiton's Olympic Dam site.

Australian Space Awards 2022 Professor Volker Hessel Shortlisted
Professor Volker Hessel, School of Chemical Engineering and Advanced Materials, has been shortlisted as a finalist for the 'Academic of the Year' category in the Australian Space Awards 2022. The winners will be announced on 24 March.

New project to boost copper extraction from sub-economic deposits
IMER has been awarded a new project to extract copper and other minerals from sub-economic deposits. $2.8m awarded by the Australian Government’s Co-operative Research Centre Projects (CRC-P) Scheme to a collaboration led by Environmental Copper Recovery SA Pty Ltd and including researchers from the University of Adelaide.

Unlocking South Australia’s copper resources
The University of Adelaide will lead a $14.6 million research consortium to develop advanced technologies to boost South Australia’s copper production and develop a globally competitive mining technology services sector in the state.
