Biography
Laura Madeline Angel commenced her education at St. Peter’s Girls College before continuing her studies at the University of Adelaide, where she successfully gained the degrees of Bachelor and Master of Science. She joined the Zoology Department of the University of Adelaide where she was able to apply her extensive resources of observation, patience and persistence, both in the field and in the laboratory.
For much of her time at the University she was in charge on the first year practical classes, while also undertaking individual scientific enquiry and classification.
Upon her retirement from the Zoology Department, Madeleine received the distinction of appointment as an Honorary Research Associate at the South Australia Museum, where she continued to work until a few years before her death.
