Biographical

Bruce Raymond Davis was born in Adelaide 17 July 1939. He was student at the University of Adelaide, completing a Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) in 1960, and Bachelor of Science (Mathematics) in 1963 and a Doctor of Philosophy (Electrical Engineering) in 1969.

In 1964 he took up a role as a Lecturer in Electrical Engineering, eventually becoming a Senior Lecturer in 1971 and an Associate Professor in 1994. He is currently a Visiting Research Fellow at the University of Adelaide.

In 1970, Davis spent twelve months at Bell Laboratories in New Jersey, where he worked on mobile communication systems. He returned to Bell Laboratories in 1977, this time working in the Satellite Systems Research Department.

He has also undertaken extensive research work for Telecom Australia and the Communications Division at the Defence Science and Technology Organisation (DSTO).
