Traditional stories told to Miss B.E. Simmons by Ten Tiroba of Buariki in Tarawa in the 1920s and subsequently copied by H.E. and Honour Maude. 1 foolscap notebook [in Gilbertese]: together with Traditional stories from the Northern Gilberts (Institute of Pacific Studies, 1990), a translation of these stories by Reid Cowell.
These two volumes were presented by Prof. H.E. Maude in April 1994.

Copies of creation stories, genealogies, myths and legends of the Gilbert Islands, collected by May Pateman, missionary with the London Missionary Society on Beru. {Collection in groups 1-17 with typescript synopses} 10 cm.
These stories were collected by Pateman from various informants c1926-27 and copied from her papers at the Mission many years later by Kambati K. Uriam.
