Formed in 1973 by Jiří Tancibudek, members of the University of Adelaide Chamber Orchestra were drawn from the most advanced students of the Elder Conservatoium, occasionally reinforced with young professional instrumentalists. During its six years of existence, the orchestra studied and performed over 60 different works, and also provided concerto accompaniments to many distinguished artists, including the celebrated horn soloists Barry Tuckwell and Hermann Baumann.
