Biographical

Charleton Yeatman was a graduate of the University of Adelaide, completing both an M.B. and B.S. in 1910. On May 20 1915, he enlisted in the 1st Australian Imperial Force in Adelaide, where he was allotted to the Australian Army Medical Corps. He was promoted a Lieutenant Colonel at the Australian General Hospital in Harefield, Middlesex during WWI, and in WW2 was appointed as the hospitals' Commanding Offer

During his military service he was awarded several medals, including the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire in 1919.

• 1 notebook containing Number 2 Australian General Hospital, reports of post-mortems during World War 1. Most of the postmortems in the book were performed and written up by Charleton Yeatman, and give a graphic account of the terrible injuries and sickness sustained by serving men in WWI.
