Science Night at Waite Campus: Food Down to a Science

Science Night

Join us at the Waite Campus as we untangle the science behind agriculture, food and wine through an evening of interactive talks, tastings and more.

This event will have scientists trying to test your knowledge through 'two truths, one lie' and feature talks on common misconceptions relating to food and nutrition, sustainable agriculture and technology in the vineyard and wineries of South Australia. In between talks you can join us for a taste of waste, food for thought and Waite wines, where you can nibble your way through several food and wine offerings - all related to the research on University of Adelaide's Waite Campus.

Talks include:

- Two truths, one lie (interactive): Navigating the soil microbiome, with Dr Stephanie Watts-Fawkes

- Future Foods, can you pick fact from fiction?, with Dr James Cowley

- Two truths, one lie (interactive): Exploring indigenous ferments, with Dr Cristian Varela

- No and low alcohol wines (tasting), with Dr Kerry Wilkinson

The night will include an offering of canapes and refreshments, plus hands-on activities to browse in between talks.
