Health Equity Reading Group

The Health Equity Reading Group meets every two months and aims to promote discussion and debate within the University of Adelaide and the new Adelaide University on a broad range of topic areas. There is a particular focus on health, equity, wellbeing, and public policy. It aligns with the University of Adelaide FAME strategy, especially Research Mission 1: ‘Strengthening social structures and equity’. Discussion invites critical analysis of the determinants of health, equity, and wellbeing in an historical context, including climate change and the environment, housing, employment and working conditions, and commercial and political determinants. Two guest speakers each present a paper or report for approximately 20 minutes, with 20 minutes allocated for discussion. The next meeting will be held on Monday 26th August from 12.00-1.00pm via zoom. We are pleased that Dr Connie Musolino and Dr Miriam van den Berg, both from Stretton Health Equity in the Stretton Institute, will be the two presenters.
