The University of Adelaide stands strong globally

The University of Adelaide has reasserted its position in the 2021 QS World University Rankings, placed firmly in the top 1% of world universities, with a ranking of 106, released today.


Adelaide continues to be the leading university in South Australia and one of the highest ranked in the nation.

“Such a ranking speaks to the international standard of our University of Adelaide, our reputation, and the high international respect that our research and our degrees attract,"  Acting Vice-Chancellor Professor Mike Brooks.


The University has excelled on the global stage, scoring near perfect marks (99.8 and 99.1 out of 100) for its ability to attract the world’s best students and staff to Adelaide.


“In a tough year, globally, for higher education, the latest ranking is pleasing news for the University of Adelaide, and a reflection of the hard work put in by our community of staff, students and alumni,” said Acting Vice-Chancellor Professor Mike Brooks.
 
“Such a ranking speaks to the international standard of our University of Adelaide, our reputation, and the high international respect that our research and our degrees attract.
 
“Perhaps most gratifying for a research-intensive university has been the excellent result within the component of the ranking that relates to research impact. The University of Adelaide has seen dramatic improvement in the citation impact of our researchers, rising from 270 in the world in 2016 to 52 in the latest QS ranking,” he said.
