University research excellence highly cited
Fourteen University of Adelaide researchers have been named for their outstanding work in the Clarivate annual global list of Highly Cited Researchers (HCR).
The experts have been acknowledged for world-class research in diverse areas including materials science, plant science, geoscience and chemistry.
“I would like to congratulate the University of Adelaide’s researchers who have been named as HCRs today,” said the University of Adelaide’s Professor Anton Middelberg, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research).
“The University of Adelaide is one of the top research institutions in Australia because of its community of researchers who undertake great work that has a direct benefit to society. Their work extends our knowledge of how to tackle society’s problems.
“Their cutting-edge research assists their colleagues around the world and is an inspiration to the next generation of scientists - their students early career researchers- many of whom will take up the mantle of leadership in their chosen fields.”
The University of Adelaide HCRs are among 6,938 influential researchers from 69 countries identified as global research scientists and social scientists who have demonstrated exceptional influence – reflected through their publication of multiple papers frequently cited by their peers during the last decade.
Quantitative and qualitative analysis is used to identify individuals from across the globe who have demonstrated significant and broad influence in their chosen field or fields of research.
