Critical Examination Information

The University of Adelaide conducts invigilated examination events throughout the year. Students that sit these examinations must be aware of key information prior to attending the exam. This website guides students through what they need to know and how to best prepare for their exam, what to expect and where they can find support.

  • Before your Examination

If you’re feeling a bit nervous about your exams, that’s completely understandable. Explore the Exam Wellbeing page on the Wellbeing Hub for some tips to help you prepare.

Check the Examination Timetable Release Date for your study period. Note that the timetable and seat number release dates are usually different.

Ensure you are familiar with your examination venue and pre-plan your journey to arrive on-time. Please note that students are not permitted to enter the examination venue 30 minutes after the commencement of the exam event. Traffic jams and other public events which may increase your travel time may not constitute grounds for a replacement exam.

Watch the video below to experience a day in the life of a student with an exam at The University of Adelaide:

  • Examination Timetable

Students must ensure their availability to sit their examination in the prescribed exam period.

The exam timetable is released via MyAdelaide and is personalised for each student. Students must view their personal timetable and attend the examination as it appears in MyAdelaide. It is an expectation that students regularly check their exam timetable.

Misreading the exam timetable and failing to attend will not constitute sufficient grounds to apply for a replacement exam. Times outlined on this page are in Australian Central Standard Time (ACST) / Australian Central Daylight Time (ACDT).

  • Replacement Examination & Additional Assessment

Students must be available during the examination periods listed in the Academic Year Dates

Should you be unable to attend the exam on the day please refer to the Modified Arrangement for Coursework Assessment Policy to determine you eligibility requirements for a Replacement Examination or Additional Assessment.

  • Alternative Examination Arrangements (AEA)

Students must register with Disability Support to apply for an Alternative Exam Arrangement (AEA). The Disability Registration Form is available on the Disability Support Website.
