Study Overseas Ambassadors
Study Overseas Ambassadors create a community of globally-minded Study Overseas and Global IQ Connect alumni who can share the benefits of a Study Overseas experience with the broader University community. Our Ambassador program provides students who have undertaken an overseas study experience or completed the Global IQ Connect program with an opportunity to promote these experiences, act as ambassadors for their host university/program, and provide assistance at Study Overseas, Global IQ Connect, and Pro Vice-Chancellor (International) events.
Each year, we will have volunteering positions available for both Junior and Senior Ambassador roles. Please note: You are only eligible to apply to be a Senior Ambassador if you have already completed at least one semester of volunteering with us. All accepted applicants who have not volunteered before will be automatically allocated Junior Ambassador roles.
To be eligible to apply, you must have completed either a Study Overseas exchange or short program, or completed the Global IQ Connect program. We expect our Ambassadors to be friendly, confident, well-presented, articulate, and culturally aware, however if accepted, we will provide training in these skills to help you along the way.
You could be given the following tasks as part of your Ambassador role:
- Social media engagement
- Running, facilitating, and assisting with events
- Participating in panel discussions
- Answering enquiries
- Giving oral presentations of your experience
- Engaging with international visitors
- Giving campus tours
- Promoting Global Engagement programs to other students
Please note: The Ambassador Program for 2022 is currently suspended. Please keep an eye on this website for further information.
