What motivated you to participate in an overseas experience?
I've always been fascinated by the United States, particularly its diverse culture and history. Studying in Texas provided me with a unique opportunity to immerse myself in American life, experience Southern hospitality, and gain firsthand insights into American culture and values.
What was the highlight of your Exchange?
The highlight of my exchange year was undoubtedly the college football games. Experiencing the electrifying atmosphere of a packed stadium, with over 110,000 passionate fans cheering on their team, was truly unforgettable. The energy and camaraderie were contagious, and it was an incredible way to immerse myself in American culture.
What challenges did you face during your Exchange and how did you overcome them?
One of the biggest challenges I faced was adjusting to a completely new environment without knowing anyone beforehand. It was daunting to navigate a foreign city and university campus alone. However, I actively sought out social opportunities, joined clubs and organizations, and participated in campus events. By putting myself out there, I quickly made new friends that I will forever be grateful for, amongst building a strong support network.

What new skills or knowledge did you gain from the experience?
I gained both personal and academic skills from my experience. Personally, I developed a strong sense of independence and maturity. Living in a foreign country forced me to rely on myself, solve problems, and adapt to new situations. Academically, I enhanced my critical thinking and problem-solving skills through learning economics in a country whose economy is the powerhouse of the world.
