Course overview
This course provides students with a foundation in procurement and supply by introducing key concepts, activities, technologies, and processes within and between organisations that create value and enhance market position. It emphasises the importance of building effective relationships with stakeholders and supply chain partners. Students will develop an understanding of the role of procurement in supply chains and its significance for organisational efficiency and success in today’s highly competitive global business environment.

- Discern the role and value of procurement in organisations.
- Explain the procurement cycle and its contribution to spend management and categorisation.
- Apply methods and tools to develop sourcing plans and optimised supplier base.
- Assess models of buyer-seller relationships and evaluate the importance of supplier development.
- Evaluate approaches to pricing and cost management in procurement.
- Demonstrate problem solving, oral, and written communication skills, and an international perspective.
