Course learning outcomes
- Understand and critically appraise different theories, models, and practices for literacy learning.
- Apply understandings of multimodality and plurilingualism to the models and practices for literacy learning.
- Explain the role of imagination and literary texts in children’s development and learning.
- Identify and critically analyse quality literature and authentic texts from a range of historical, social, and cultural contexts.
- Apply detailed knowledge of a range of literary theories and the language and literary features and patterns to the analysis of literary, non-fiction and multimodal texts.
- Apply strategies for responding to literary texts to planning for teaching and learning.
